Abstract

Objective To study the change and significance of serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS) before and after treatment. Methods The serum levels of hs-CRP in 137 patients with ACS, 52 patients with stable aragina pectoris (SAP) and 86 normal controls were determined by emul enhanced immunoturbidimetric assay. Results The level of hs-CRP in ACS group and SAP group was significantly higher than that in control group(P0.01). The level of hs-CRP in ACS patients was significantly decreased after treatment (P0.01). Patients with hs-CRP10.0 mg/L during hospitalization or with hs-CRP3.0 mg/L on leaving hospital were more possible to occurence of palindromia. Conclusions The level of hs-CRP was significantly high in ACS. It could be predicted occurrence of ACS. The hs-CRP is a indepedent risk factor of ACS.
