Abstract
Objectives To investigate the clinical significance of the changes of serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods The serum levels of IL-6 and hs-CRP were detected in 60 patients with ACS (ACS group), 40 patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP group) and 40 healthy subjects (control group). Results the serum levels of IL-6 and hs-CRP in ACS group were higher than those in SAP group and control group (P0.01),among the patients with ACS,the serum IL-6 and hs-CRP levels in AMI patients were higher than those of UAP (unstable angina) group (P0.05). There was no significant difference in the levels of IL-6 and hs-CRP between SAP group and control group (P0.05). There was a positive correlation between IL-6 and hs-CRP levels(r=0.5942,P0.01). Conclusions IL-6 and hs-CRP are correlated with pathogenesis of ACS and may reflect the severity of ACS.
