Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of propolis compounds on blood glucose.Metheds Diabetic mellitus mice were randomly divided into four groups, diabetic mellitus group(distilled water),low dose group(propo1is 0.11g/kg),medium dose group(propo1is 0.22g/kg)(propolis 0.66g/kg).each group concluding l5 mice was treated once daily for 30 days in gavage.the level of fasting blood glucose and blood glucose 0h,0.5h and 2hafter glucose administration were determined. The change of area under the curve of blood glucose was observed after glucose administration.Result Blood glucose in 0.22g/kg and 0.66g/kg decreased significantly as compared with diabetic mellitus group(p0.05). Conclusion Propolis compolinds could decrease the level of fasting blood glucose and increase the glucose tolerance.
