Outpatient prescription comment and analysis of western medicine(TCM) in our hospital

Objective To comment and analyze the outpatient western medicine(TCM) prescription of our hospital according to latest version of prescription management rules,improve the quality of prescription writing and command the condition of drug use,promote safety and rational drug use after finding out existing problems.Methods The total 4891 pieces of prescriptions which sampled in random day every month from outpatient department between January to June 2012 were analyzed.Results Eighty-one pieces irrational prescription were found,the irrational prescription rate was 1.66%.There were some irrational prescriptions although the rational rate of prescriptions was high.Conclusion The writing of prescription and drug use is rational yet it is far from perfect.Besides improving the skill of doctors,the supervision and review function of pharmacist should be strengthened so that tighten the prescription management and promote rational drug use.
