WANG ZHENG,A NATIVE SCIENTIST OF SHAANXI IN THE LAST YEARS OF MING DYNASTY

Though being a prominent scientist Wang Zheng has been known very little, in the ancient time he devoted his energies to spreading and introdusing western science,technology and culture.He made distinctive contibutions to mechanics and phonology,and tried promoting the cultural exchange between China and the western world.This article gives not only an introduction to his scientific and cultural contribution,but also an appraisement of his life.
