Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of TGF-β1 on the genesis of Jagged1 mRNA in astrocyte. Methods After the astrocyte activated by LPS was cultivated with TGF-β1 for 24 hours, the Jagged1 mRNA was extracted. The expression of Jagged1 mRNA was evaluated at 0,6,12 and 24 h.Results TGF-β1 induced the expression of Jagged1 mRNA in astrocyte. As culture duration extended, the expression of Jagged1 mRNA was attenuated significantly(P0.05).Conclusion TGF-β1 can induce the expression of Jagged1 mRNA in the LPS-activated astrocyte, which may inhibit the repair of myelin sheath through the activation of Jagged1/Notch1 pathway.
