Effects of Combination of Mecobalamin and Alprostadil on Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

Objective:To observe the effects of combination of mecobalamin and alprostadil(PGE1),mecobalamin only and vitamin 12 only on the patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods:A total of 60 patients with DPN were divided into three groups(Group1,Group 2,and control group).Twenty patients in group1 were given mecobalamin(0.5 mg IM.qd.) and alprostadil(10 μg IV.qd.) for consecutive 2 weeks.Twenty patients in Group2 were only given mecobalamin(0.5 mg IM.qd.) for consecutive 2 weeks.Twenty patients in control group were only given vitamin(0.5 mg IM.qd.) for consecutive 2 weeks.All patients were received adjuvant therapy with salvia injection.Results:Compared with control group,complains and physical signs of patients and every nerve conduction velocity(NCV) improved.The effects of Group1 were better than that of Group2.No side effect was found in three groups.Conclusions:The combination of mecobalamin and alprostadil could obtain better effects in patients with DPN.
