Jianpihuatan Decoction on 100 cases of acute chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of the Jianpihuatan Decoction on acute phase of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) and explore its mechanism.Methods One hundred and ninety cases COPD patients on acute stage were chosen from June 2007 to June 2011 in our hospital,and all of them were divided into two groups randomly,both of the intervention group and control group were given the same collection of western medications that with the clinical effects of anti-infection,spasmolysis and semeiological treat conventionally.Jianpihuatan Decoction was used as an additional treatment in intervention group and observation to change of symptoms,signs and lung function was given before and after the medication therapy.Results The total effective rate of intervention group surpassed the control group according to statistic analysis(P 0.01).Lung function of patients in both group were enhanced,with a greater change in intervention group than the control group(P 0.05).Conclusion Acute clinical symptoms of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can be improved with the Chinese herbal medicine of Jianpihuatan Decoction and the Decoction is capable to enhance the efficacy of clinical therapy.
