Abstract

Objective To improve the understanding of the pulmonary tuberculosis with positive sputum in the aged population in General hospital.Methods The clinical data of 46 elderly patients with pulmonary tuberculosis with positive sputum were retrospectively analyzed during the period of May 2010 to May 2011.Results 40 cases were cured and improveded,7 cases died.Conclusion The incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in elderly patients is high.Patients with positive sputum had shown more atypical clinical characteristics and more complications and had a high misdiagnosis and miss diagnosis rate.An early diagnosis and treatment for special patients should be given as soon as possible.
