Abstract
objective To investigate the clinic condition of pulmonary tuberculosis among the in-school students and to provide the data for improvement of pulmonary tuberculosis control and prevention. Methods All the pulmonary tuberculosis cases of in -school student’s medical records and registration cards registered during the period from 2002 to 2004 in Jiang Meng Antituberculosis Station were investigated and analyzed. Results Overall, in all of 58 cases, 77.59% of patients had shown suspicious tuberculosis symptoms, 70.69% of patients who came to hospital because of the classic symptoms were finally diagnosed. In chest radiography, 48.28% of patients had shown lesions more than two lung fields and 48.28% had got cavity. 53.45% of cases were sputum smear positive and 60.61% were sputum culture positive. 12.5% of patients were non- tuberculosis Mycobacteria infected. According to the drug susceptibility test, 28.57% of Myco- bacterium tuberculosis were drug resistant. Conclusion Study shows the pulmonary tuberculosis epidemiological condition among students sub-population are still serious, so stricter control and prevention measures should be improved in the future.
