Abstract
War novel weighs a lot in Wang Tao' s novel creation,in which most of them are based on the war of Tai Ping Rebellion. Many scholars think that Wang Tao' s war novel fulfilled with towards the army of Tai Ping thus merit not. However, from my point of view, his attitude towards Tai Ping Army can not be considered as slander and it can only be seen as attack. His war novel on Tai Ping Rebellion not only reflects the attack on the Army of Tai Ping but also his condemnation on Official Army, meanwhile, his sympathy on the innocents. The complicated thoughts in Wang Tao's war novel reflect his contradictory on political ideology: tending to the renovation of social system, but fear of revolution, and which actually exist among most of the thing mind at that time.
