Establishment of Diabetic Rats Models with Erectile Dysfunction Caused by Streptozotocin

Abstract

Objective:To study on diabetic rats models with erectile dysfunction caused by streptozotocin(STZ).Methods:30 male rates were randomly divided into five groups(control group 、STZ 40mg/kg group、STZ 60 mg/kg group、STZ 80 mg/kg group、citrate buffer solution injection group),6 rats each group.And all rats were observed four days,one week,two weeks and three weeks after injected STZ.Fasting blood glucose,erectile frequency induced by apomorphine and change of mass should be recorded.Results:Significant difference existed in fasting food glucose among groups of different test time(P0.001) and of different dose of STZ injection (P0.001).There was significant difference in erectile frequency induced by apomorphine between STZ 40mg/kg group and STZ 60 mg/kg group(P=0.043).Conclusion:The best dose of STZ injection to construct diabetes mellitus rats model is 60 mg/kg.Erectile dysfunction can not be considered if penile erection exists after APO injection,and the best dose of APO is 100 μg/kg.
