Abstract
Fe-Si fine powder is prepared by vibration ball milling. In the tests the fine silicon steel powder is prepared with different ratio of the ball materials,in different milling time, using the dry ball milling process and the wet ball milling process. Results show that with the elapse of milling time the grain size turns to be finer and 12 h later the refining speed of the grain becomes slower.Although increase the ratio of the ball materials and extension of the milling time can very possibly further refining the powder, yet it is of little effect on the distribution of the grain size. The wet ball milling process plus dry ball milling process are of high efficiency in preparation of the fine powder and the distribution of the grain sizes is controlled within the limit of fine grain category.
