Abstract

Objective To compare cell immunophenotyping analysis with morphologic analysis in the diagnosis and classification of leukemia. Methods The cell immunophenotypes of 120 cases of leukemia were analyzed by using flow cytometric method and acute leukemia phenotyping kit which was bought from BD company of USA, and it was compared with the result of morphologic analysis. Results Of 120 cases of leukemia, 80 cases were exactly classified by morphologic analysis, the corresponding rate was 66.7%. Leukemia can be exactly diagnosed and classified by immunophenotyping analysis. Conclusion The combination of morphologic and immunotyping analysis is a promising method to diagnose and classify leukemia.
