Abstract

Objective To assess the value of transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound for monitoring ovulation induction. Methods This study was carried out on total of 42 menstral cycles. The patients were divided into three groups. Group Ⅰ was composed 15 normal menstrual cycles; Group Ⅱ was composed 18 cycles with clomiphene on 5th - 9th day of the menstrual; and group Ⅲ was composed 12 cycles with clomiphene and estrogen on 5th - 9th day of the menstrual. All patients were examined by ultrasound on 7th 10th and the last day befor ovulation. The diameters of follicle、endometrium and the PI、RI of uterine and follicular arteries were measured respectively. Results There were 38 cycles can be seen growth follicle in 42 cycles. The diameters of three groups patients on the day before ovulation were 19.7 ± 1.0mm,21.4 ± 1.4mm and 20.7 ± 1.5mm; the endometrium on same day were 11.0 ± 3. 3mm, 10.0 ± 2. 5mm and 12.2 ± 2. 3mm( P 0.05) respectively. In all 38 cycles can be seen the follicular arteries, the PI and the RI were decresingly to the day before ovulation, (P 0.05). Conclusion The transvaginal ultrasound with color Doppler imaging can be used to predict and monitoring the ovulation directly.
