FIVE NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS IASSUS (HOMOPTERA:IASSIDAE)

The present paper describes five new species of the genus Iassus Fabricius, 1803, The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica and the Forestry Department of Yunnan. Province respectively.1. lassus notatus sp. nov. (figs. 1-5)This species is allied to Iassus indicus (Lethierry), being separated from the latter by the head, pronotum, scutellum and the forewing pale green, body beneath paler and the legs more or less green; also by the eyes and the ocelli dull red-brown, and the scutellum without a dull spot at each basal angle.Length: ♂, 3.2mm; ♀, 4.7mm. Length incl. tegm.: ♂, 4.5mm; ♀, 5.5mm.Holotype ♂ and allotype ♀, Cangyuan, 1,010 m, Yunnan, 18. Ⅴ. 1980.2. lassus fuscomaculatus sp. nov. (figs. 6-8)This species is very similar to lassus pulvereus (Distant), especially in the color of the body and in the pronotum and scutellum densely speckled with fuscous; but differs in size, the latter being 3 mm in length, and in the maculae, the former without two small central black spots before apical margin of the face and without two central longitudinal black lines on clypeus.Length: ♂, 4.0mm; length incl. tegm. ♂, 4.6mm.Holotype ♂, Menghai, 2,187 m, Yunnan, 10. (figs. 9-11)This species resembles lassus magnus (Distant), but is smaller, the vertex of head distinctly narrower and differs distinctly in the scutellum which is rubiginose in color-Length: ♂, 5.2-5.5mm; length incl. tegm. ♂, 6.2-6.5mm. (figs. 12-14)This species is similar to the foregoing new species lassus notatus, but is bigger in size, the eyes dull castaneous, the ocelli colorless, and the structure of the aedeagus distinctly different.Length: ♂, 5.2mm, ♀, 5.3mm; length incl. tegm. ♂, 6.0mm, ♀, 6.3mm.Holotype ♂ and allotype ♀, Fengqing, 1,400 m, Yunnan, 24, Ⅶ. 1980.5. lassus dentatus sp. nov. (figs. 15-17)This species allied to the foregoing new species lassus reflexus, being separated by body deep green in colour, the eyes and the minute brown spot at apex of clavus paler in colour, and especially by the structure difference of the aedeagus.Length: ♂, 5.0mm; length incl. tegm. ♂, 6.0mm.Holotype ♂, Maguan, 1,200m, Yunnan, 16.
