Abstract

With the computing capability concentrating to data center,it's important to eliminate the performance bottleneck of data communication and improve the system administration.The key point to that is I/O subsystem.InfiniBand is a new technology that can eliminate the bottleneck of current I/O architecture.The InfiniBand switch is the core of the switch-based I/O new technology.This paper first introduces the basic concepts of the InfiniBand technology.Then major functions of the InfiniBand switch are analyzed.Finally the design scheme of the InfiniBand switch is presented.And the performance is analyzed and compared with other fast switches.
