Clinical Observations on Acupuncture-moxibustion Treatment of HIV Positive Peripheral Facial Paralysis

Objective To investigate the curative effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on HIV positive peripheral facial paralysis.Method Patients with HIV positive facial paralysis were divided for treatment into acupuncture, moxibustion, acupuncture-moxibustion and control (intramuscular injection of vitamin B 1 and B 12) groups. Results and Conclusion The total effective rate was 100% in the acupuncture-moxibustion group, which was significantly different from that in acupuncture, moxibustion and control groups (P0.05,P0.01). It is showed that combined use of acupuncture and moxibustion has a good curative effect on HIV positive facial paralysis.
