Abstract
Objective:To assess the utility of P504s immunohistochemistryin diagnosis of prostatic neoplasms.Methods:Light microscopy and immunohistochemistry examinations(EnVision staining) were performed in 151 cases of prostatic neoplasms to correlate the morphology and protein expression of P504s and prostate specific antigen(PSA).Results:The strong expression of PSA were detected in all of the cases.P504s was strongly and diffusely positive((++)~(+++)) in 21 of 22 cases of prostatic adenocarcinomas.Weak expression was observed in 1 of 127 case of BPH.Both cases of ASAP were negative for P504s.Conclusions:P504s is an useful marker for microscopic diagnosis and differential diagnosis of prostatic neoplasms with the good sensitivity(95.5%) and specificity(99.2%).
