Abstract

Objective To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of hyperuricemia among occupational populations of Ningxia,in order to provide a scientific basis for hyperuricemia prevention. Methods With cluster sampling method, workers taking routine health check-up were selected from departments of government and collective ownership enterprises of Ningxia.Questionnaire survey, physical examination and laboratory test were conducted in the participants. Results Among 5545 of this survey,a total of 5415 subjects had complete data. The total prevalence rate of hyperuricemia was 16.8%,the prevalence rate of hyperuricemia was 22.2%in male;In female, the prevalence rate of hyperuricemia was 8.2%.The prevalence rate of the male was obviously higher than that of female(χ2=166.574,P0.01).The prevalence rate of obesity, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high TG,high TC,low HDL-C and high LDL-C of case group were significantly higher than these of the control group. Conclusions Compared with domestic earlier epidemiological survey results, higher prevalence of hyperuricemia in part of the population of Ningxia was found, and the prevalence in men was significantly higher than that in women.
