Abstract
According to the various data of land use in Qianjiang District from 1996 to 2005,this paper analyzes the basic characteristics of land use changes,that is,the areas of resident land,land use for industry,traffic land and forestland have greatly increased,while the areas of cultivated lands,garden plot and unused land have evidently reduced.The leading factors of these changes are analyzed with the software of SPSS 12.0,indicating that the change of population increasing,economic development,urbanization,and land policy were the main driving forces the change of land use in the district.
