Clinical observation on Eliminating Dampness Weiling Decoction combined with Eliminating Dampness and Relieving Itching Ointment in the treatment of chronic eczema

Objective To investigate the clinical effect and safety on Eliminating Dampness Weiling Decoction combined with Eliminating Dampness and Relieving Itching Ointment in the treatment of chronic eczema.Methods Outpatients with chronic eczema in the People's hospital of Daxin County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from October 2011 to October 2012 were divided into treatment group(164 cases) and control group(142 cases).Patients in the treatment were given 500 mL Eliminating Dampness Weiling Decoction orally 2 times a day,and Eliminating Dampness and Relieving Itching Ointment was used externally 3 times a day for 4 weeks,while cases in the control group were given Epinastine Hydrochloride Capsules 10 mg once daily,and Flumetasone Ointment was used externally 3 times everyday for 4 weeks.Results The cured rate,effective rate,improvement rate,no effect rate and the total ef fect rate of treatment group were 76.2%,12.8%,4.2%,6.7% and 93.2% respectively.The cured rate,effective rate,improvement rate,no effect rate and the total effect rate of treatment group of control group were 53.5%,16.1%,7.7%,22.5% and 77.4% respectively.There was significant difference of the effect rate between two groups,which the treat ment group was higher than that of the control group(χ2=21.711,P = 0.000).There was significant difference for obrions adverse reactions between two groups(χ2=4.684,P = 0.030).The control group has higher recurrence rate than that of treatment group(χ2=8.543,P=0.003).Conclusion This investigation indicates that Eliminating Dampness Weiling Decoction combined with Eliminating Dampness and Relieving Itching Ointment has a good efficacy and safety therapy in the treatment of patient with chronic eczema.
