Study on the Ornamental Seed Plants Diversity and Landscape Applications in Tengchong County of Yunnan Province

Based on the field investigation, specimens and related references, the ornamental seed plants in Tengchong county of Yunnan Province were studied. A total of 373 species ornamental seed plants in 218 genera of 96 families were recorded. The resources of ornamental seed plants were divided according to their life types and ornamental types. There were 116 herb plants, 21 liana plants, 133 shrubs and 103 trees in this region. The flowering plants were the richest in the resources according to the categories of ornamental types. The composition and flora of ornamental plants were also analyzed. Furthermore, the prospects of the application of these plants in landscaping are discussed. Some suggestions were provided about the resources protection and sustainable exploitation and utilization.
