Blow-out fractures of the orbital wall

Aim To study clinical profiles and diagnosis of blow out fractures.Methods Among 8 cases with blow out fractures were diagnosed by CT (5 cases with medical fractures,2 cases with floor fractures and 1 cases with both medical anel floor fractures. 3 cases were treated with surgery and 5 cases without surgery. The main clinical findings were enophthalmos, diploia and abnormal eye movements. CT findings were displacement of the orbital wall ,enlargment of the orbital volume,soft tissure trauma and damage in accessory sinuses of nose. Results Case with surgery and without surgery were all clinical cured. Conclusion We conclude that the indication of surgery depends on the degrees of the fractures and the soft tissure's damge, including the extraocular muscles and the important nerves in orbit.
