Abstract
Objective:To study the classification and diagnosis of TCM syndromes of ankylosing spondylitis(AS) that is in the active stage. Methods:We used the method of clinical epidemiology, recorded 163 cases of AS in the active stage symptoms, signs(including the tongue and pulse) and other clinical materials, and analyzed the clinical data in using mathematical statistics of variable clustering analysis. Results:Syndromes of AS patients in the active stage were classified into 4 types, including syndrome of hot and humid syndrome of permit evil yu and heat syndrome of liver and kidney deficiency syndrome of phlegm and blood stagnation, and main diagnostic points were determined for different TCM syndromes initially. Conclusion:Four diagnostic information of TCM combined with variable clustering analysis and expert's opinion is helpful in the rational classification of TCM syndromes and research of main diagnostic points of each TCM syndrome.
