Abstract
The experiments were conducted to explore the effects of three different photoperiods(8 h,short day;12 h,middle day;16 h,long day) on superoxide dismutase(SOD) and peroxidase(POD) activities in fall dormancy alfalfa. The results showed that the SOD and POD activities were the highest under 8 h day-length,followed by 12 h day-length and 16 h day-length.Under the same day-length,SOD and POD activities increased with the elongation of growth period. It showed that a significant relationship between SOD and POD activities and photoperiod, and short day photoperiod could improve the activities of SOD and POD.
