Study of Measures on Reducing the Sequelae in Patients with Neurocysticercosis

To study the measures of reducing the sequelae in patients with neurocysticercosis, five methods were used: 1) Appropriate and systemic anti cysticercosis treatment; 2) Early anti cysticercosis treatment; 3) Initiatively applying mannitol and dexamethasonum; 4) Mastering the indications of neuro surgery; 5) Restoration treatment of encephalon function. The results indicated that praziquantel, albendazole combined methods could reduce the sequelae of patients with neurocysticosis obviously compared to single drug methods. Early anti cysticercus treatment, initiatively applying mannitol, dexamethasonum, mastering the indications of neuro surgery and using restoration treatment of encephalon function in time could reduce the sequelae obviously. These suggested that six measures were all effective against the sequelae of neurocysticercosis to some extent.
