Abstract

Objective:To study the efficacies of ranitidine bismuth citrate (RBC)-based triple therapy with lansoprazole-based triple and quadruple therapies in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) for one week. To evaluate the safety of the all therapies. Methods:93 patients with Hp-positive gastritis diagnosed by endoscopy were randomized to receive one of the following regimens for 7 days: group A,RBC 350mg, amoxicillin 1g, metronidazole 400mg; group B, lansoprazole 30mg, amoxicillin 1g, metronidazole 400mg; group C, lansoprazole 30mg, amoxicillin 1g, metronidazole 400mg, bismuth potassium citrate 220mg (all given twice daily for 1 week). Four weeks after finishing medication,13C- urea breath test were performed. Results: The Hp eradication rates of the group A, group B and group C were 85% ,84% and 90% respectively(P0.05) .The pain-relieving rates of 3 groups were 86% , 83 % and 91% (P0.05). Side effects were mild in all groups. Conclusions: RBC-based regimen is ef-fective and well tolerated for the eradication of Hp. The efficacies of Hp eradicating were similar among the three groups.
