Abstract
Objective To investigate the role of the expression of E-cadherin(E-Cad) and matrix metalloproteinnase-9(MMP-9) in carcinogensis and progression of gastric carcinoma. Method The expression of E-Cad and MMP-9 was studied with S-P immunohistochemical method in 80 specimens of gastric carcinoma tissu. Results The expression of E-Cad and MMP-9 between gastric carcinoma and normal tissu was significantly different(P0.01).The expression rates of E-Cad in gastric carcinoma were lower than normal tissu,but MMP-9 were higher.The expression of E-Cad and MMP-9 was not related with cellular differentiation(P0.05).But it was closely related with the invasion depth,stage and lymph metastasis(P0.05). Conclusion The detection of E-Cad and MMP-9 expression may be helpful to judge the malignant behavier,metastasis and pronosis of gastric carcinoma.
