The Influence of the Positioning of Beijing's General Urban Planning on the Construction of a National Cultural Center

As the national cultural center of China,the cultural construction and development of Beijing have close connections with the historic cultural heritage and the context of the city,which is also closely related to Beijing's consciously urban general planning. Since the founding of People's Republic of China,all the previous urban plannings of Beijing on the characteristics and functions of the city have caused great impacts on the building of the national cultural center. During the period,profound lessons as well as successful experiences are both manifested. They not only reflect what the role of the system of discourse of urban planning in the context of politics,economics,society culture and cultural awareness of city has played in the interpretation of the connotations and functions of the national cultural center. They also embody the influences of strategic consciousness and development measures that have influenced the construction and advancement of Beijing as the national cultural center of China.
