On the market-town economy in the Taihu Lake Valley in the Song Dynasty

During the Southern and Northern Song Dynasties different types of market_town in the Taihu Lake Valley showed different features and development tendencies.As far as market_town business was concerned,it's general level in the Northern Song Dynasty was quite limited;it headed for prosperity in the Southern Song Dynasty and its development formations tended to be mature.As far as market_town handicraft was concerned,it had various types of trades and tended to be specialized;and the production mode fell into individual production and workshop production.As for the market formation of market_towns,rural markets and towns formed the two_level market system of initial rural markets and central markets which were further combined with city market system.
