Abstract
n-butyl stearate was synthesized from n-butanol and stearic acid in the presence of catalyst TiO_2/S_2O~(2-)_8-zeolite molecular sieve. The factors influencing the yield of n-butyl stearate and the optimum reaction conditions were investigated. The results showed that the yield of n-butyl stearate could reach 98.7% when the molar ratio of n-butanol to stearic acid was 3∶1, the amount of catalyst was 2.0% of feed stock, the reaction temperature was 85 ℃, the reflux reaction time was about 2.5 h,and the purity was at least 99.1%.
