Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of regulating the function of liver and spleen in treating irritable bowel syndrome of diarrhea type(IBS-D).Method Fifty-two patients with IBS-D were divided into 2 groups at random. The treatment group(30 cases) was given decoction of regulating the function of liver and spleen, the control group(22 cases) was given Pina Verium Bromide and placebo decoction. The course of treatment was 1 month.Every patient filled the irritable bowel severity scoring system(IBS-SSS) and quality of life in persons with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-QOL).The change of patient's clinical symptoms and nervous and neuropathy functions before and after treatment were recorded. The curative effects of the two groups was compared. Results Compared with the control group, the treatment group was better in the curative effects and CM syndromes(P0.05).The treatment group was prior to the control group in improving the patients' clinical symptoms and nervous and neuropathy functions, decreasing the clinical symptom score(P0.0l).The treatment group was also prior to the control group in decreasing the score of IBS-SSS and IBS-QOL(P0.0l).Conclusion The method of regulating the function of liver and spleen can alleviate the symptoms of IBS-D and improved the QOL.It is proved to be effective for IBS-D.
