A Narrative Strategy in Zhang Ai-ling's Novels

Abstract
As time and space are key elements in the narrative of novels, the means of handling time and space adopted by writers often mirror their specific views on life and aesthetic interest. Extremely sensitive to the curious change of time and space, Zhang Ai ling not only expresses her sentiment on the elapse of time and the separation in the world, but also portrays social realities and human conditions by way of flexible change system of time and space. In a word, time and space in her novels are possessed of dual functions of aesthetic appreciation and narration.
