Abstract

objective To compare and evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of moxifloxacin-containing regimen and levofloxicin-containing regimen in elderly patients with multiple-drug resistant pulmonary tuberculosis(MDR-PTB).Methods 70 elderly patients with MDR-PTB were randomly divided into two groups. 35 patients in trial group were treated by 12 MDL 2 E plan and the other 35 patients in control group were treated by 12 VDL 2 E plan. All the patients were administrated with utilins 6 months before the treatment. The results of bacteriological examination ,X ray examination and side effects of the drugs were collected and compared. At the end of treatment course the therapeutic effect could be evaluated in 31 patients of trial group and 30 patients of control group. Results At the end of two months after treatment the rates of sputum negative conversion were 70.97% in trial group and 40.00% in control group(P0.05),and At the end of three months after treatment the rates of sputum negative conversion were 90.32% in trial group and 60.00% in control group(P0.01). In every phases of the treatment course after 6 months, the rates of sputum negative conversion in trial group were higher than those in control group, but there were no significant differences between two groups (P0.05). At the end of the treatment course, the rates of focus absorption improvement were 87.10% in trial group and 73.335 in control group, the cavity closure rates were 54.52% and 20.00% respectively, there were no significances between two groups(P0.05). The incidents of side effect were 22.86% and 26.47% respectively (P0.05),there was no significant difference between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Moxiflocacin is effective and safe in the treatment of MDR-PTB in elderly patients.
