The Socialist New Countryside Building from Farmers' Perspective

An investigation of the type of questions and answers into the farmers of Fengbeibu,a village in Faku County of Liaoning Province was carried out by random sampling,396 copies of valid question are taken back.Farmers' degree of satisfaction at their current life,their initiative with which they take part in the socialist new countryside building and the existing problems in rural areas and the developmental measures are analysed and studied from the farmers' perspective.Analysing the farmers' knowledge of the socialist new countryside building—who constitute the mainbody of this building—drew the conclusion:Farmers are not satisfied at their current life as a whole;Most farmers are extremely willing to take part in the socialist new countryside building;Farmers consider the high rise of the price of agricultural production material and the low governmental investment in the countryside as the main reason for their difficulty in income increase;The shortage of village cadres who are both capable and do practical things for farmers is regarded as one of the main constraint factors of the slow rural development.Therefore,farmers long for governments at all levels to increase rural investment and train village cadres of high quality and persons who can lead villagers to prosperity.
