Abstract

Europe in the Middle Age is usually regarded as a synonym of ignorance and darkness.During that period,Christianity was the monopoly of culture.We can say that this period of history is the history of the development of Christianity.It is historically inevitable that Christianity became a dominant ideology in the Middle Age in Europe and it is the inevitable result of the Western social and cultural development.Governance of Christianity in Middle Age made due contribution to the society,the history and the culture at that time,but also left a legacy of malpractice.Therefore,the Christianity was greatly criticized by the Renaissance and modern Western philosophy.
