Abstract
H.264 standard meets the need of growing compression performance for the movement of video images,greatly reduces the bandwidth for sending video images,and can be apply to all kinds of network environment.Designing H.264 encoder based on TMS320DM642 is a fast effective way,with multiple video processing capabilities,rich interface,the algorithm flexibly and optimization based on the characteristics of video signal and so on.This paper discusses the hardware designing for H.264 video encoder based on TMS320DM642 chip and the software designing based on DSP/BIOS operating system,the encoder can be designed from the computer and encode real-time for CIF video streaming.
