Abstract

Objective:To investigate the role of serum levels of IL-18,IFN-γ in these patients with chronic hepatitis B.Methods:The serum IL-18,IFN-γ of 49 CHB patients were measured by ELISA. The liver function test, serum HBV markers were determined at one time. Results:The serum levels of IL-18,IFN-γ in the patients with CHB were significantly higher than those in the control group (P0.001). Their serum levels in turn were severe CHB greater than moderate CHB greater than mild CHB. The serum levels of IL-18,IFN-γ in the patients severe CHB were significantly higher than else patients. The serum levels of IL-18,IFN-γ were positively correlated with the serum livels of ALT and TBil(P0.01 or P0.05). The serum levels of IL-18 in HBeAg negative CHB were significantly higher than those in HBeAg positive CHB patients, but the serum levels of IFN-γ were zere difference between two group. Conclusion:Serum IL-18,IFN-γ may play an important role in pathogenesis of chronic hepatitis B virus infection and correlate with the patient′s condition. Testing of the serum levels of IL-18,IFN-γ were conductive to estimation hepatic tissue inflammation and cell injury grade, meanwhile IL-18 play an important role in antivirus.
