Abstract
Objective To analyze the method and therapeutic effect of uterine artery embolization in the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage. Methods 50 cases of patients with postpartum hemorrhage admitted in our hospital from March, 2010 to March, 2013were collected and randomly divided into group A and group B. 25 patients in group A were given hysterectomy, and 25 patients in group B were given uterine artery embolization for treatment. The clinical effect of group A and group B was compared. Results After appropriate treatment, successful hemostasis was achieved in both groups; the one-time success rate of hemostasis was100%. The mean operation time, average hemostatic time, and average recovery time of ovarian function of group A was(54.6 ±42.6) min,(22.6±5.6)min,(5.5±1.2)months, respectively, while that of group B was(32.6±11.7)min,(6.5±3.2)min,(2.8±1.8)months, respectively. The operation time, hemostatic time and the recovery time of ovarian function of group B were shorter than those of group A with preserving the uterus, the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05). Conclusion For patients with postpartum hemorrhage, uterine artery embolization has shorter operation time and hemostatic time, and it is safe and reliable, the patients recover faster, which is worthy of promotion.
