Summary and Criticism about Neo-Confucianism of Liu Zongzhou

In the late Ming dynasty,a famous neo-Confucians named Liu Zongzhou made a summary and criticism systematically about various genres and their representative figures of previous Neo-Confucianism trend.Based on his academic standpoint and viewpoint of restraining in privacy,he criticized them mentioned before;meanwhile he gave them affirmation appropriately.This behavior reflects his idea's characteristics,containing many genres,making a point of digesting the learned,and taking no count of separate treatment.Therefore he made a composition which embodies contributions of previous scholars in the field of neo-Confucianism,and occupied an important position in history of thought.
