Dai Zhen's Criticism and Reform of Neo-Confuscianism

Abstract

Daizhen was famous scholar and distinguished thinker in China in 18th century.He studied Confucian classics and history of Han and Song Dynasties.His learning was animportant field in Qian and Jia emperors period.The fields of his academic achievement include study of Chinese characters,phonology,Confucian classics and history,textual research,astronomy and arithmetics as well as criticism of Neo_Confucianism.He posed a unique critique and explanation of the theory of of Song and Ming Dynasties.His new interpretation of field of reason,his critique on apriorism of Neo_Confuscian philosophy,his new ideas about discrimination of reason and desire and his opinions about Cheng Zhu's idea of Borrowing thoughts from Buddhism was enlightening and against feudalism.They were very valuable in those days when there were only scholars but no philosophers.
