The Marriage Types of the Princesses in the Dang Dynasty

Abstract

Princess is a special part of the prerogative class in the Tang dynasty.Marriage is one of the important means of practicing its privilege in the society.The marriages of the princesses in Tang Dynasty can be roughly classified into three types:Political marriage;Marriage based on family status;Patriarchal marriage.Therefore,we can draw a conclusion that most princesses in the Tang Dynasty are not that open and straightforward,and to some sense they were conserved,obedient,helpless,and even desperate.
