Marriage and Family Relation of Princesses in the Tang Dynasty

The princesses were important members of the ruling class in the Tang Dynasty.Their influence was generally exerted through marital relationships and was fall of contradictions.On the one hand,they enjoyed certain advantages with relative self-determination in matters of marriage and family;on the other hand,such marital relationships were also subject to political balance and served the ruling class.Therefore princesses did not have true self-determination.
