Abstract
Holistic nursing care is a patient-centered nursing mode instead of disease-centered functional nursing that is void of somatopsychological care. However, there are some problems in practicing holistic nursing care. For example, it is difficult to carry on the nursing plan; the functional nursing mode is still deep rooted; the quality of nurses is not appropriate to the needs of holistic nursing care. To raise the actual quality of holistic nursing care, we suggest that 1) new nursing forms should be developed to cope with the patient-centered mode; 2)new working procedures and criteria for quality evaluation should be formulated, and 3) the quality of nurse should be raised in an all-round way.
