Serological diagnosis of liver fibrosis

Abstract

Liver fibrosis is the common pathology of chronic liver diseases,and can evolve into cirrhosis and related complications.It is believed that liver fibrosis is invertible.Therefore,the diagnosis of liver fibrosis is important for the prevention and prognosis of chronic liver diseases.Liver biopsy has always represented the standard of reference for assessment of liver fibrosis,but has some limitations.Recently,it is found there is fine correlation between liver fibrosis and serological indexes which is easy to carry out and expected to replace liver biopsy.This review focuses on advances in the researches of the serological diagnosis of liver fibrosis.
