Abstract
Based on the analysis of characteristics of smart antenna,detailed discussion is performed for the theoretical methods of smart antenna. According to different methods of antenna beam processing and forming,smart antenna’s architecture and classification are introduced. The algorithms for accomplishing the smart antenna technology are presented in detail,and corresponding optimal strategy is given according to differences of operation capability and measurement requirement. In conclusion,the application status and the development future of smart antennas are summarized and expected.
