Study on Early Chinese Sports Based on Dongyi Culture

The purposes of this paper are to analyze the cultural structure of early Chinese sports from ancient sports perspective and to find out the historical line of our traditional sports development from sports ideology. This paper used literature review method to discuss the formation,development and evolution of the Dongyi sports culture based on regional structure of Dongyi in order to find out the historical line,formative characteristics and cultural connotation of the early Chinese sports. From the perspective of etymology,we would like to investigate the cultural background where the character yiwas created and the cultural concept of the character gong,to look for the cultural clues and value features of sports. We found that the living environment and national character of the Dongyi people have provided the thought and behavior conditions for the origin of sports,and sports has become the life element integrated into their culture blood. This paper analyzed the cultural origin of sports and provided a useful supplement for research of early sports history.
