Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical values of multi-slice spiral CT scanning (MSCT) and 3-D CT in the diagnosis of liver carcinoma with hepatic artery-portal vein fistula (APVF). Methods Results of the MSCT and 3-D CT from thirty-two cases of hepatocellar carcinoma with APVF were retrospectively analyzed. 3D-images of the vessels were reconstructed by SSD and MIP techniques. Results MSCT scanning revealed 5 cases of artery-portal vein fistula (APVF,centre) and 27 cases of artery-the small branch of portal vein fistula (APVF,periphery). The extent of APVF could be divided into three types: mild APVF (n=13),moderate APVF (n=15),and severe APVF (n=4). Conclusion MSCT and 3-D CT are useful in diagnosing and evaluating APVF.
