Strategy for promoting the city's modernization process based on harmonious development ——Taking Dalian city for research background

The modernization of cities is becoming a strategic target for most cities in China, whereas the most significant access to achieving this goal is harmonious and sustainable development. This paper, by analyzing the connotations of the city modernization and its index assessment system, evaluates the modernization level of Dalian city by using the above mentioned index system. It also points out the unbalanced aspects in Dalian's economic development, and finally offers some suggestions and countermeasures for promoting the development of the city modernization through harmonious development.
